US scientists monitoring the region said the shock's epicentre was 35 miles south-west of the capital Port-au-Prince and six miles underground.
Sky's chief correspondent, Stuart Ramsay, travelled to the dangerous slum of Solidad to watch one failed aid drop.
The World Food Program said 270,000 people had received emergency food assistance by Monday night.
World Vision spokesman Steve Matthews defended the aid distribution.
"The aid is never fast enough for the armchair aid workers sipping their lattes," said Mr Matthews.
"Despite the slowness, aid is flowing. The UN Security Council has agreed to add 2,000 UN troops and 1,500 police to the 9,000-member peacekeeping mission in Haiti.

R&B Star Teddy Pendergrass Dead at Age 59 (1950-2010)

R & B singer Teddy Pendergrass, who was one of the most electric and successful in the music figures until a car accident 28 years ago left him in a wheelchair, died of colon cancer. He was 59.

Before the crash, Pendergrass established a new era of R & B with an explosive, the first voice which symbolizes masculinity, passion and the joys of love and sadness in songs like "Close the Door," "It Don 't Hurt Now "," Love TKO "and other hits that have since become classics. It was an international superstar and sex symbol.

His career was at its peak - and continues to grow.

Friend and longtime collaborator Kenny Gamble, the renowned production duo Gamble & Huff, has teamed with Pendergrass on his greatest hits and recalled how the singer is even working on a film.

"He had about 10 platinum albums in a row, so it was very, very successful artist and record as a performer," Gamble said Thursday. "He had a great career before him, and this sort of accident Got in the way of many of these plans."

Pendergrass, who was born in Philadelphia in 1950, suffered a spinal cord injury in a car accident in 1982 that left him paralyzed from the waist down - still able to sing, but his signing authority. The image of the farm, the male lover has been replaced by another who drew sympathy.
